A study on development and the effectiveness of college student's job-seeking anxiety intervention program based on process-experiential psychotherapy

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop program of college student's job-seeking anxiety based on process-experiential psychotherapy and verify the effectiveness of the program on decrease of job-seeking anxiety, avoidance of career emotion regulation and improvement of college student's career preparation behavior. The experimental group was a total of 25 college students 3 groups, and the control group was a total of 21 students 3 groups; the total was 6 groups and 46 students. For the experimental group, a total of 6 sessions (twice a week, two sessions per one meeting) were conducted. In order to verify the effectiveness of this program, pre- and post-examinations were conducted on research participants and results were compared, respectively. According to the result of pre and post tests, job-seeking anxiety, avoidance of career emotion regulation of experimental group decreased significantly, and college student's career preparation behavior increased significantly after the program. This study is significant in that it has developed a program based on an empirical process of vividly experiencing emotions as the need for emotions grows at career counseling sites.
